“The Karijini Experience”

May 1, 2015 - May 4, 2015

The Karijini Experience of May 1–4, 2015, contains fascination for every interest, and stimulation for every sense.

There’ll be many opportunities to explore deep inside Karijini National Park, and from many different perspectives. You can take an airconditioned ride around the park, stopping to walk the gorges and take a dip in Fern Pool. You can do cultural workshops and tours with local Banyjima Elder Maitland Parker. You can go birdwatching through the Park with an expert guide.

Internationally renowned soprano Deborah Cheetham, a survivor from the Stolen Generation, will perform her brilliant operatic show, Til the Black Lady Sings, in the extraordinary setting of Kalamina Gorge.

If you’d like to capture the essence of Karijini, you can head out on landscape painting workshops with Susan Sheppard, or join professional photographer Cathy Finch to learn the finer points of snapping a masterpiece.

Food is always a great feature of the Experience, and a highlight this year will be a luxurious lunch prepared by the charismatic star of ‘The Outback Café’ TV series, Mark Olive, fusing local flavours with contemporary techniques.

And that’s just a taste of the program, which you can download through the link below. Of course, how you put your own, customised Karijini Experience together is entirely up to you.
